그릭스대학 입학상담실에 올라온 그릭스 입학관리자의 답변인데요

Regionally 가 아니라 nationally 던데 . 그럼 다른가요?

      Griggs University는 미국 고등교육 위원회 (www.chea.org )와 미국 원격교육위원회 (www.detc.org ) 로 부터 인가된 101년의 전통을 가진 연방정부인가(Nationally Accredited) 대학교입니다.
      한국에서는 작년에 세종대와 교육협력을 맺어 시작하였으나, 양 대학의 내부사정으로 협력을 취소하고, 현재 서울교육대학교 평생교육원 미국학사학위 과정으로 함께 진행하고 있습니다.
      미국 원격교육대학이라 국내에는 따로 인가를 받지 않아도 되는 교육형태이며, 단지 국내 대학(서울교대)과 교육협력을 통해서만도 미국 학사학위를 취득하는 글로벌 과정입니다.
      참고로, 5년 이내에 국내에 그릭스대학원대학교 인가를 받을 계획이 진행되고 있습니다.

물론, Griggs 홈페이지에 보면, nationally accredited가 되어 있는 전공들도 있습니다.
하지만, 모든 전공들이 다 nationally accredited를 받은 건 결코 아닙니다.

위의 싸이트를 보면, 메릴랜드 주에서 인가를 받은 부분에는 대학은 없습니다.
학교 홈페이지에 정규 대학으로서 주(state)에서 인가를 받지 않았다는 것을 인정하는 것이겠죠.
학교 자체가 제7안식교 라는 종교단체에서 만든 학교이기에 제7안식교에 해당되는 종교쪽으로의
전공들은 그들 끼리의 인가를 받은 셈이지만, 그 외의 다른 대학들이 인정해 줄수 있는 전공들로는
아예 대학 자체가 인가를 받은 것이 아니기에 학위를 받더라도 쓸모 없는 학위가 될 가능성이 90%이상이죠.
